While the Oscars snubbed his artistry for several occasions, Gary Oldman’s ongoing baldness cannot play hide-and-seek anymore. Guess, Gary Oldman is becoming what his last name says he is. Yes, Oldman now belongs to nearly half of the world’s adult population that suffers from a condition called androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness. Androgenetic alopecia affects nearly 70 per cent of men by age 35 and 85 per cent by age 50.
The term androgenetic alopecia refers to two contexts. Androgenetic is derived from the theory that this condition is caused by the combination of the genetics and androgens. Alopecia is the Greek term for hair loss of any type.
